Consolidated CV position: IB SA offer rescinded in background check?
Hello everybody,
I am lucky to have received a IB SA offer at a BB. Before the start of the internship, I have to go through their pre-employment background check. Reading through the regulations of it, I am worried about a part-time student assistant position on my CV.
The position basically consolidates two very related positions into one and shows the time period between the start date of the first and the end date of the second. However, there was also a multi month gap between these two positions. This was only done to keep the CV short; the CV shines with other positions, this is a fairly minor point on my resume. This is also the point that could be contested at all in the checks (no criminal record, etc.).
This has never been a problem for me, however, due to local data protection laws, I never had to go through a rigorous third-party background check. Should I flag this with HR? Or should I wait for the background check to begin? Has anybody had their offer rescinded for this kind of stuff?
i dont think its irresponsible to leave things off the resume. However it IS Irresponsible to leave them off during a background check. Why would I list my mid teen restaurant experience on my finance resume which can now barely fit 1 page. If they asked me about it I wouldn't lie but the point is (atleast in my experience ,I've interned at bank, which requires FBI fingerprinting and the background check came back essentially saying bank doesn't care about non financial gigs in general) to reiterate most banks dont care about employment thats not related to BANKING i.e. you bussed tables for six months and then became a server at another restaurant. If you straight up lied on your resume then yes you may be in trouble but if you left things off its up to the interviewer to probe whats going on.

.
You are overthinking this way too much. Its not a big deal. Don't email HR or bring it up that will only make things worse.
