Consulting 1 year out of undergrad?
Please excuse my ignorance because I'm still kind of new to the process. How does one break into MBB consulting as a post-grad? I'll be graduating soon (in engineering) from a semi-target and spending time at a Ivy League medical school in Boston as a research/computational analyst, but now I can't participate in college recruiting.
I understand the importance of networking, so my main plan is to connect with alumni from my undergrad university or try and meet as many consultants in Boston as possible. However, most of the networking events in the Boston area seem geared towards Harvard and MIT undergrads, which I am not.
How does one meet recruiters and get interviews at this stage of the process (or while in a job and not in school)? Is it just through referrals and applying online?
