Where to buy a house?

for those working in IB in the nyc, where do you see yourself buying a house?

living in nyc when you want to raise a family is tough on the budget so was thinking of moving into the suburbs. any recommendations? somewhere in nj that’s quick to nyc and has a good neighborhood/schools?

I looked around a few times (ended up buying in nyc as I couldn’t do the suburbs thing).

With that said in jersey a few popular areas: Edison, short hills, Hackensack, new Vernon

There are a bunch of other jersey areas just depends how far you are willing to commute, as an example Princeton is a nice area but more of a commute.

Other than jersey some people do the CT thing, some popular areas: Greenwich, Darien, new Canaan, westport
