Consumer Venture Capital

Does anyone know of any venture capital or early stage growth equity firms that are focused on the consumer space? Seems like it is not an industry that gets much attention. Thanks in advance.

I assume you mean consumer goods companies instead of consumer Internet? Highland has a pretty good team and dedicated fund for consumer products. There aren't many others though. It's a challenging sector for VC because they're more capital intensive and generally slower growth, which is a bad combination for early stage venture.

this is definitely true, but more than ever before start up consumer companies are able to lease production facilities and quickly gain distribution.
