Corp Dev Offer?
Currently have an offer in the Bay Area from an established tech company that comes out to around $130K after bonus. No equity. I am finishing up my first year at a BB. Is this in line with what I should expect? The no equity component is a bit disappointing but I guess the upside is minimal anyhow given the stage of the company.
Sorry no advice here, but any insights into recruiting to Corp Dev? Also finishing up my first year at a BB and looking to pivot into tech corp dev.
Really got to move past just the financial aspect of your current role and make sure you come across as someone who thinks like a client. I think one of the pitfalls of recruiting for corp dev is that because its relatively similar to aspects of banking (and not as intense as PE), applicants approach them like "easier" banking interviews which is the wrong way to go about it.
Yeah, I might even call $130K all-in on the high end for only one year of experience. Sounds like a dope gig!
For sure, I was offered corp dev and only got paid 95k. Was explicitly told much less hours though.
Took a corp dev role in Bay Area after almost 2 years for the same comp. Good comp. You'll feel better about it once you starting signing off at 7 every day and have a life.
Definitely looking forward to it.
That's not bad comp at all given you're a 1st year analyst. Opus has some good resources on comp ranges - 2019 report breaks out by location, 2020 report doesn't, but both break out by stage of company.
Never knew this existed, thanks.
