Corp Strat > HF
Can someone whose a rockstar in Corp development go to a HF? If so would it be a activist HF like starboard? Has anyone made this transition? What is comp like at a activist fund?

I'm in consulting and was recently hit up by Glenview to cover tech. I think dependign on your hustle + knowledge base there are opportunities for whatever you want to do in this world
Good to know could be a good transition when looking for a board seat.
I would say it depends on whether you have an IB background and who you are working for. If its a Fortune 500 and you have M&A/or top IB experience, then I definitely think you can move to an equity HF. Also, if you are working in a sector that is seeing a lot of turmoil or consolidation, that would likely get you in the door at a HF. If you do not have a previous IB background then you will have trouble making it past the recruiters who screen people out based on where you went to college, where you did banking, where you work now and if you are relatively junior your GPA and ACT/SAT. Some recruiters no matter how senior you are will not send your resume if you dont have top GPA and test scores even if you have been successful in the business for 20 years.
