CorpDev for smaller vs larger firm

Hi there,

I'm a CorpDev manager working for one of the largest corporations in my industry (think top 30 worldwide), my branch is focusing on international expansion (a couple of countries in my coverage). Despite I have the fancy title I'v got quite a few responsibilities and hardly even talk to the boss of my boss, the whole deal flow is somewhat vague and the process of decision-making is very slow, in other words I'm doing just a small slice of the deal. My goal is breaking into industry-oriented PE and I'm getting to realize that with the current understanding of the deal flow I'm hardly going to make it.
Recently I've received a couple of quite attractive options - one is losing fancy title and moving to HQ (CorpDev) second is moving to (much)smaller firm (and retain managerial title). Both options obviously mean getting more exposure to the whole cycle of deals, and the second option leads also for incomparable greater responsibility and exposure to the top-management (but lesser deals in terms of value and losing brand name on my resume).
What does overweight in the eyes of PE?

Thanks!
