None of this really should in and of itself cause the banks to do anything if they are run properly. The real issue is that so many banks are all in their own particular circumstances of business and portfolio mix, business model/strategy, legacy, cost structure, mismanagement etc.
So name names of banks you are curious about and we can opine.
How about we start with BofA?

Their middle market runs lean and mean and is a leader in the upper end of the middle market. So I think they will remain steady. Not sure about their corporate staffing level but I think they’ve been pulling back on aggressive lending over the past couple of years.
