Corporate Strategy v. Asset Management
Since graduating, I have spent the past three years in banking and I am ready for a change. I currently have two offers, one is in corporate strategy/internal M&A at an energy company and the second is on a trading desk at a large Asset Management firm. My plan is to work at one for a year or two and then go to business school. I feel like the corporate strategy role is similar to banking, thus I am leaning towards the AM firm for a change of scenery. With that being said, I am assuming the corporate strategy role would be more beneficial for getting into business school. Any recommendations....
funnier in corporate strategy (you get to actually create things), more $ and free time in a trading desk.
Anymore information on this topic? I am in the same situation.
I would def go corporate strategy - it opens a lot more doors. Doing the AM gig would be good if you want to do AM when you get out of Bschool, but otherwise I feel like it limits your opportunities.
