Covering a company you're not allowed to trade has got to be the most boring thing ever

Is it just me? I'm interning at a small ER firm and it's so boring because I can't even trade the stock I'm spending hours and hours researching. How do you guys deal with this?

I need to move to the buy side...

I'm sure reformed has his own reasons, but there are a load of reasons to consider equity research. Yes tough to deal with lack of trading ability on your own sector, but good reasons for this. If you're on a top ranked team can end up moving the market with changes in recommendation so of course unfair to trade on this. Don't let others get you down. The skills you get there apply to other sub-sectors...
