Cowell and Lee

Hey has anyone heard of this fund in hong kong called Cowell and Lee? I'm looking to move out to Asia and apparently they're an event-driven fund focusing on credit. Any feedback would be great, thanks!

A buddy of mine deals wit them quite a bit and said he's heard it's not a good place to work. Said they deal dirty and have a bad rep on the street and that the head guy who runs it is a huge cocky prick. Could be wrong, but I'd be cautious and get more color first.

I'd heard similar remarks as well...bad rep on street and deal dirty. Also heard zero analytical training cos' investment decisions are not based on fundamentals. Head guy makes all decisions and analysts are acting glorified assistants (translates to not getting paid). Avoid like the plague..

I don’t think that it is true. I know people who are working there and their deals generate stable returns in over past few years. Plus they pay cash bonus with no delay or defer. Also the truth is that research analysts generally stay over around 3-5 years and got good training up as they tend to exit the firm with good jobs after!!
