Credit Analyst at Commodity Trading Shop
Not really sure where to put this but I'll start here. I just started as a FT credit analyst at a large, private commodity trading company and I'm just curious what the view is on this type of role. We do everything from PFE analysis to getting into the weeds on long term, structured transactions.
Where does someone in a role such as this move into? I've heard of moves into investment analysis, trading, or just continue into trade finance.
Thoughts?
This privileged role inside trading firm will get you interact with the internal/external traders, possibly bank relationships and quite often an opportunity to know the ownership of the private commodity trading company.
A trader on my desk started in credit so it's really what you make of it if you network (ie show people who matter that you're solid).
