Credit Analyst to PE?

Hi all,

I may have the opportunity in a role as Credit Analyst for a large retail/wholesaler in the construction industry. This would be my first full time role in finance after studying a Master of Finance.

My goal is to eventually move into PE (sooner rather than later, but considering current markets this may take time)

Would a few years in this role be valued by future PE employers?
