Credit / Distressed Fund Modeling Test
What are these interviews like?
Specifically, if there was a modeling test, what kind would it normally be (straight 3-statement, PE-type LBO, or restructuring type)? If it's more restructuring / credit related, can someone shed some color on what that would be like?
Thanks!
We use LBO and restructuring models for the most part at the fund I work for, though I wasn't given a modeling test.
bump but for restructuring advisory lbo modeling test.
inital thoughts, would it be worth while to sculpt the TLA profile in a debt capacity type manner (ie, set coverage ratio and max amort amount to this)? and, balance sheet? worth the hassle?

Got an interview with a lower MM fund focusing a distressed investments. Does anyone know what type of modeling skills they will generally test?
Thanks in advance!
Which fund?
Depends on the fund and the strategy. I'd brush up on your recovery analysis though as well as general credit modelling.
Thanks jjpp, by recovery analysis do you mean preference analysis or just generally understanding who has seniority in a bankruptcy? Do you have any quick reading recommendations?
