Credit Suisse - Screwed on bonuses?
It was well publicized that CS got screwed on bonuses. How bad were they really? Were salaries bumped accordingly? If so, what do 1st, 2nd, 3rd years make now? There's a lot of hearsay but haven't seen much definitive out there. Also, are people content to stay or are people jumping ship to where CS resembles UBS circa 2009?
I don't think it was the compensation numbers as much as the structure that upset some people. From what I heard any bonus amount over $50,000 was deferred over 4 years. Don't think this applies to analysts though...I believe they were actually paid pretty well last summer.
I actually heard it does apply to analysts... underscore "heard"... I wouldn't be surprised if banks stated adopting this type of bonus structure - some banks already to for the senior people (i.e. Directors and above), though it sucks to screw the analysts like this...
