Cross Asset Derivatives Marketer

Hi everyone,

I received an interview for Cross Asset Derivatives Marketer. Having stuidied the job description, I am confused about what this role does

Responsibilities:

Produce marketing material in cooperation with sales and pricing teams, including simulations of investment scenarios and product performance analysis

Participate in the building of the product offering for each region and client segment Implement automation tools to marketing presentations and historical simulations

Liaise with Legal and Compliance departments to develop and maintain Asian compliant marketing and sales documents

Strong focus on quantitative investment strategies

This position will serve as a primary liaison between the Marketing Team and the Sales/Engineers desks. The marketer will work on the trading floor, marketing financial products and strategies in Asia, linked to any asset class. This position is at the crossroads of many different services: a link between clients, sales people and financial engineers. It includes contact with other departments, globally.

There are questions I would like to ask:

  1. What does "marketer" mean? And what does this role actually do?

  2. Is it a front-office role?

  3. Is it a good career start, I want to work in S&T division.

I would like to gain more insights about it, I would be grateful for all advices for input. Thank you very much!
