Current associate at IB. Would want to move at a place with decent work life balance making minimum pay sacrifice

Could someone please explain which area i could move into (i'm currently associate at a bulge bracket) without a major sacrifice in pay. I have lots of calls for PE but it isnt something which interest me partly due to the bad work life balance. Any suggestions?

OP, it sounds like you are asking for the holy grail. Something will have to give. If you want less hours with similar pay, you will probably have to move to a place where no one wants to go, or take some other risks that you may not be comfortable with, maybe change jobs with far less upside or exit opps.

There are some stable high paying jobs where people don't work hard. I have seen them. They are not as well known and it is why those people never leave those jobs unless they retire, leave for a personal reason or get booted out after a very long period of underperformance.

I am sure I missed out on a few points here but I am sure others can chime in and fill in gaps/add to this discussion.

Good Luck

I used to do Asia-Pacific PE (kind of like FoF). Now I do something else but happy to try and answer questions on that stuff.
