Currently at FAANG Corp Finance, have an offer for TMT Corp Strategy - Need advice

Here's my situation: I graduated with a top 10 MBA a year ago and started working at one of the large tech companies on the west coast in Finance. Overall, the role has been OK. Sometimes the work is really interesting and impactful (30% of the time), other times I feel like a glorified accountant (70% of the time). I'm originally from the NY area so I have questioned my decision many times to have moved out here for a job that I'm not thrilled about. I recently got an offer from a large player in the TMT space (non-FAANG, but respectable name) in their Strategy team in the NY area.

Here's how I'm thinking about things and I wanted to get some advice from you guys.

Reasons to stick with FAANG:

  • Great name, I actually couldn't believe how quickly I was landing interviews by blindly applying online (I've gotten quite a few 'oh wow you work at X, why the heck would you ever want to leave?' questions during interviews)
  • The company is incredibly innovative and is constantly working on cool shit so I can honestly say this is the first time I've been proud to say 'I work at company X'
  • Lots of internal mobility to work in different areas (mostly within the Finance function, but also room to move to Product/Ops roles if I pick up the technical skills necessary)
  • Great compensation - I'm currently set to make 10-15k more at my current role than the TMT Strategy gig and that gap will potentially only increase the following year as the stock price of my current company continues to increase (I will be negotiating the Strategy offer to hopefully close that gap a bit)

Reasons to take the TMT Strategy offer:

  • The work will be project-based strategy work which is the kind of stuff I really enjoy doing. The company is a large established player and the business unit I would be covering has both: 1) areas that are doing quite well and 2) areas that are hurting badly so I would get exposure to a variety of work.
  • It gets me back closer to home. As I mentioned above, I am from the NY area so getting back to the area is very important to me. Also, I'm not a huge fan of the current city that I live in.

So essentially I'm wondering if I should give up prestigious company + higher comp in exchange for more interesting work + preferable location.
