.
if I were them I'd do the same thing?
I could have used my dad's connections to become a Vehicle Maintenance Officer with the US Postal Service, but I didn't feel right about it so I settled for a job on Wall Street. Sometimes I wonder if I made the right decision.
What do you think about the possibility of being successful and being able to help your own child get an ibanking job one day?
I think I love my kids more than that.
i will NEVER NEVER NEVER let my kids pursue a career in banking.
medicine, engineering, law, arts, sports, etc....but not banking, hell no.
but if some other random kid needs help, hell why not.
i will support my kids in anything they want to do, as long as it is legal and moral. If they want to do something that is illegal or immoral, i've raised them wrong and shouldnt have any input in this regard.
As long as daddy isn't helping to KEEP the job I wouldn't care how they got it in the first place.
Econ 101 man. Optimal utilization of existing resources :)
I am jealious, but I never hate for that, but congrat her.
Nowadays, you can be so smart or smarter than any other people, but if you have no connection, you are easily dead.
Having a good relationship is always the best way to get a career.
Any of us would not like to burn out for getting a job. She just did what any of us has always wished. I adore that.
I would do any of this for my best friends, too, because it is normal and I also could get help from my friends.
The problem is that it is dead difficult to find those friends.
I would also agree that I would never want my children to be bankers. By interning, I know that there are some A**holes who think they are better than most human beings.
Too busy to care. I hope my kids don't do this.
What do you think of bankers who win mandates because of close relationships to board members? That's how life works.
In life its not WHAT you know its WHO you know. Even if that WHO is your dad.
My mom was the one who helped me get my job...jus sayin.
Who cares, no reason to be jelly. Ill probably end up tapping that anyway
Wish my daddy could do the same.
If people always provide the solution of "network, network, network" to people who can't get into banking, what's the problem when a person uses the ultimate network (parents) to land the job?
