Dating Scene in IB

Considering how tough IB can get, would love to hear how analysts and associates date while working. How’d you find/meet your SO? Dating apps? College sweetheart? Co-worker, and if so, is this looked down upon by the seniors?

Long story short. Got dumped by my girlfriend recently over how we both just don’t see our relationship lasting after college due to our different career trajectories. Ever since, I’ve been super anxious recently if I will ever find a gf while I’m working in IB. And even if I do, I feel like its going to be hard to juggle us and my work.

How are you able to sustain your relationships on top of work? Does your SO work too or are they stay at home?

2:30am thoughts running through my head… Someone please tell me Im not going to be lonely when Im an analyst

Definitely not coworkers, they'll all be dumb-as-bricks diversity broads unless you're at a WASPy PE fund.

Dating apps are for virgins. Who meets their SO in college? You're supposed to be making hundreds of sorority girls pregnant in college, not get chained down by one.

Meet women at clubs and bars, or on vacations.

MBA programs at schools known for amazing social scenes (Dartmouth, USC, UNC) are pretty good places to find goddesses. But all of the girls at B, S, H, Sl or C are pretty ratchet. W and K girls are pretty fucking hot from what I've seen though. So go to W or K for your MBA to find a girl.

Wow lotta crazy comments on this thread. But real talk: get on hinge, go on a lot of drinks / dinner dates, have a lotta casual sex. Next thing you know you, you're 30 and only working 50 hours a week and have time to date seriously. Spend time with the boys and cultivate a big network of friends in the meantime. This is how to do your 20s in NYC in finance. For god's sake, stop trying to find the love of you life.
