Deal Experience Question
Hi - 2nd year BB analyst and had a quick question. Leaving job soon but have one or two deals that will announce / close in the following months or two. Given I've done the work on the majority of workstreams, is it ok to count those deals as deal experience (i.e. on resume) during my banking stint even though they announce post me leaving? Thanks!
Yes, as long as you did some of the modeling and/or analysis.
Just be sure you can speak to the deal, rationale, key metrics, impact, etc. Also be sure you've done a significant amount of work on the deal.
Along with ensuring you're not dead weight and that you actually got experience on real transactions, that's all people care about...just don't lie or stretch the truth beyond reason on what your role was on the deal team and the extent of your involvement.
