Your deal toy will be cold fries your VP offers you after coming back to the office from the closing dinner you weren’t invited to

I've always pushed for inclusion and our MM has a reputation for trying to get analysts deal toys and attendance at closing dinners. It doesn't always work out. I'm guessing that experience not only varies across the MM, but is less likely to occur as you move upmarket to larger firms and if you bank in NYC (very traditionalist).

BB - analysts will 99% of the time get a deal toy for M&A, IPO, or a large lead left debt/secondary equity offering, and they usually design it too. Every now and then the client will get pissy and not get one at all, but at least at my firm the analyst getting one is more important than the MDs who have 500 of them.

Average analyst in my firm has 3-4 deal toys by the time they leave
