Deferred MBA for Non Targets

Looking at deferred MBAs and it seems like they're geared for those that went to an elite school and are going into an elite job or diversity candidates. Do non targets with good/great jobs lined up have a chance or are normal MBAs more geared for them? Seems like they're not much risk in applying but not sure if it would be worth it.
