Econ is on a lower pedestal obviously. The BB's definitely only recruit from BBA's unless you have connections. Some of the boutiques may take a look at them though.

That is wrong. They do hire econ majors as well. Not at the same rate, but that probably has to do with a higher average GPA in the BBA. Those who have the GPA but choose econ over BBA won't really have a problem.

Wrong.

My bad, my post was regarding only the 3 schools he mentioned and other big public schools, if you still think I'm wrong then you don't know what the hell you're talking about.

Seanc:
Good for you then, you're an exception though.
Its a matter of self selection.

Most of the kids with 3.7+ GPA's will choose BBA over econ. Not a bad choice, just wasn't for me.

I'll take any economics course over having to sit through an operations course. Plus, I was still able to take the accounting courses.

If you have a high GPA, it won't be a concern from either major.

But hey, you make it sound like you know what you're talking about, so you must be right!

Seanc:
Well, I go to one of those schools too, I'm doing a BBA here and I know from personal experience that Econ majors have a harder time getting recruited by BB's.

The trick is, to not make it a question. Have a 3.7+ and it won't matter. If you're not at the top of range, yes I will give it to you that BBA will get the nod there.
