Deloitte BTA Salary & Any advice
Hey everyone,
I recently found out that I'm a candidate for the final interview for the Business Technology Analyst - Technology Consulting at Deloitte in Canada.
Deloitte (and the other Big Fours) have this weird Advisory position, which seems to be half way between auditing and consulting. However, this position was labelled as "Core Consulting".
Before getting the title of a Consultant, I'd have to start off as an Analyst for a few years. A few friends of mine recently got tech consulting internships in places like IBM, Accenture, etc... All of which paid at least 71K yearly salary. I have a feeling (if I get the offer that is) that I'll be working more along the lines with SAP.
Anyone have any salary & any other information about the BTA position?
Hi freebarry9945, any of these threads helpful:
If those topics were completely useless, don't blame me, blame my programmers...
75k base
Where is this based from? US or Canada?
In the US, my friends with BTA got $80k base and $12.5k signing. Some schools I've heard $75k - maybe it depends on city. Next time before asking about salaries, check Glassdoor.
Analyst is just their word for entry level consultant. Some firms use Analyst, some use Associate, some use Associate Consultant. Doesn't matter - you're a consultant by profession. Same with advisory.
Work at IBM/Accenture would be similar to D BTA. Some offices do a lot of work in SAP, others in other software/infrastructures. SAP is likely.
I think the salaries that are other people are citing in this thread is for S&O and also for the U.S.
I, myself, am Canadian and interned at Deloitte and can tell you that Deloitte Canada pays notoriously low compared to Deloitte U.S. (they're separate member firms under the Deloitte umbrella, so pay is not standardized between them). I believe BTA starts in low 60 to 65k range with a small signing bonus.
Also, I can also assure you that tech consulting is firmly within the consulting bucket and you won't be doing audit (which advisory sometimes does). Within tech (especially the SAP service line), you'll focus on implementation and implementation assessments.
Also, from tech consultants that I know, the Analyst level in Canada is typically around 1.5 years and Consultant is 1.5-2.5 years. After that is senior consultant.
Let me know if you have any other q's!
