Deloitte FAS

Does anybody have insight/information on Tangible Asset Valuation at Deloitte FAS?

Do people ever move within Deloitte into Business Valuation or Deloitte Corp. Fin?
What about the lateral into IB? Is that possible?

Also, what does a typical salary progression look like for someone in Deloitte FAS? (senior associate, manager, etc.)

Thanks

Don't know much about Deloitte TAV, but I see no reason why you couldn't move from there into Business Valuation, or into CF. Big 4 CF is exactly the same as M&A at any boutique, including the elite advisory-only shops (except that you go for much smaller deals and get paid a hell of a lot less), so again, I see no reason why you couldn't go from there into a bank if that's what you want to do. I do know a bunch of people who've moved from Big 4 to places ranging from BB banks to smaller buyside shops to corp dev.

No idea about salary progression, especially in the US. Big 4 Partners seem to top out at about ~US$1M+, assuming they don't head any departments or become national Managing Partners or anything like that.

What group? Valuation or Corp Fin?

Not sure about the deal flow, but experience at Corp Fin is similar to other middle market boutiques and experience at Valuation is helpful in terms of honing your modeling skills. Having said that, why not just try for MM IBs?

What level would you join the firm at? Sr. Associate or Mgr? Fyi - I don't think the pay is great and definitely not comparable to what the IBs pay. I would apply to MM IBs and only take a position at Deloitte, or any one of the Big 4 Advisory positions if all else fails.

Most people join the firm as an Associate.

Exit ops depend largely on what group (industry) in B-Val you work in. For some groups - particularly FSI and Healthcare - a lot of people have left for IB.
