Does Deloitte S&O have a generalist business model for consultants? In other words, as a new consultant, are you aligned with a particular industry, or will you work in a variety of industries?

Deloitte uses a generalist model. Actually, if you come in from college as a BA, you are forced to do different Industries and functions during your first 2 years.
What about post-MBA? Is it the same thing or are you expected to target an industry?
You're a generalist until you become a Manager. Post-MBA you start as a Senior Consultant, usually for two years. And correct - the analyst program forces you to move around industries. Except for Healthcare, which I never worked in, but I'm pretty sure they end up being focused. Or maybe I just have a few buddies that have managed to only do HC work.
As far as healthcare is concerned, I heard from some current consultants at Deloitte that they're starting to have some small groups of BAs/SCs start to specialize earlier, if they know exactly what they want. They're apparently using healthcare as a guinea pig of sorts to see if its a viable option for other industries as well.
As an undergrad you will be a generalist since you don't have any industry experience.
