u forgot to mention that DB brought bankers by the boatloads from places like ML, Citi, UBS and LEH in the US.

also keep in mind that a good amount of lehman bankers left or were let go over the LTM.

..i think either choice would be fine. i know DB has M&A and LEV FIN product groups. I know barcap has a lev fin group, not sure about M&A.

either way, I'd go where you think you would have the better chance of standing out.

I'm making it up as I go along.

I don't know anyone who has worked at Barclay's recently, but DB has good culture. DB is a work hard, play hard kinda place, with a number of people who have gotten 3rd year and associate offers in recent years. The dress code is b-casual and the office is in a good location for the subway.

All this being said, go with whomever you liked better in your interviews. To be honest they are pretty much on the same level in terms of exit opps and what not. Too many of the Lehman guys have wandered to other places on the street for most people to really see it as Lehman.

You would be well served to talk to the alumni you know at either bank as well as emailing people you interviewed with.

--There are stupid questions, so think first.

If this is for London then exit opps are better than in NYC - DB is top 5 in M&A in Europe and number 1 in lev fin for the last five years. Particularly strong groups in London are natural resources and FIG, steer clear of Healthcare.

Are both of these offers for NYC? If so, I'd go DB Lev Fin, because all of deal flow and modeling for Barclays Natural Reaources is done out of Houston. From what I've been told the NYC guys play more of a support role to the Houston guys. Source: Interviewing with Barclays Natural Resources team in Houston.
