DB S&T Summer Analyst Interview
anyone have any insight into the summer analyst interview? for the new york office. will be flying in for the 30 min first round then will hear if I make it to final round, which is the next day. I don't have much experience in trading at all so any advice or tips would be appreciated!
Didn't you hear about the hiring freeze?
Well they're still taking interns and interviewing..? Some internship is better than none
Fair. I would just concentrate my search elsewhere if you are looking to join S&T or IBD!
EDIT: It's more likely that as they cut jobs/offers, NYC and London get hit before Frankfurt.
Can I ask from where is your information coming? Having a friend in Group Strategy in Frankfurt, I'm not sure I agree.
Also, its affected*
bump, any insights into the interview?
Any news regarding JP Morgan S&T superday?
Is the super day on October 20th?
Yes
Deutsche Bank S&T SA interview (Originally Posted: 01/30/2012)
Hey all,
I'm a non-target lower junior majoring in Economics without much of a finance background (took prinicples of finance and intro to accounting) or internship experience. I just got an email that I have an on campus interview with Deutsche Bank S&T tomorrow (happened pretty fast).
Does anyone have any experience with DB S&T interviews or S&T interviews in general? If I got an interview does that mean that they don't care about my not knowing technical finance questions and not having previous experience or will they ask me those kinds of questions in the interview?
Any other questions I should be prepared for or anything else I can do to prepare a day in advance?
Thank you all very much.
Congrats buddy. I went to a target, and Deutsche didnt even do SA positions back then.
Should be mainly fit questions with maybe a few about current events and the markets. Read over the WSJ in the morning and have a solid answer for: 1) Walk me through your resume/tell me your story 2) Why DB S&T 3) Why S&T
thanks, i was pleasantly suprised to hear i got the interview to say the least.
and thanks for the advice Pike, i am working on getting those answers downpat by tomorrow.
just had an interview with them. questions vary depending on the recruiters. usually they will ask questions in which they feel you might be weak in.. for example if they think you are not strong in your technicals, they might ask you questions about the greeks, Black-Scholes etc. Or if you come from a technical degree they will ask you market-related questions.
But these questions are definitely ones you should prepare for.. 1) Tell me about yourself 2) Why Deutsche bank 3) Why S&T 4) What do you think about the markets? 5) Pitch me a stock/trade idea
I was also asked a simple question on hedging using linear regression and a couple of stuff about my resume..
Good luck!
DB SA S&T final round interview (Originally Posted: 02/18/2011)
I am applying for DB SA HK S&T (Markets). As far as I learned from the WSO, DB HK has already organized their superday in NY and extended offers. However, I received the first-round interview this Tue and successfully passed it. I am invited to the final round interview next Monday.
The format of final round interview interview will be exactly the same as the first round. It is only a 30-mins face-to-face interview with 2 professionals in their Markets division. So I will go to their elegant local office in ICC again.
Any suggestions on what questions they will address in the interview? Actually questions in the first round were quite random... maybe those in final round will be more organized and wstandard...Anyone would like share What kind of questions have you encountered at the super day in NY?
Really appreciate any tips and insights. This may be the last time for me to break into S&T...need ur help...i promise i will get back and share my experience of the whole process if i get the offer. Thanks so much.
hmmm, interesting, I went through final round a month ago. I would tell you to know the markets. The interview is not quantitative, sorry to disappoint you... :P Maybe a few thinking problems. The questions are flexible, they might derive their questions based your answer. E.g. he ask you whats your view on US economy and you said the future inflation might be higher or durational risk in 5-10 years is big or dollar will depreciate against a basket of foreign currency. they might ask what strategy you deploy today based your assumption, or he might ask our desk think dollar will remain strong, what do you think the reason could be.... bla bla bla. All kinds of question, so if I were you, I would know the markets and be yourself in the interview.
I post Global Markets Daily on my blog (www.gamblerdaily.com) everyday... I assemble the important data or news in Aisa, European and US market. I talk about important FX cross, rates and commodity and some of my thinking and trading ideas too. You should check it out. But the same time, do your own due diligence... I didn't get the offer...
Good luck to you!
