Dick Fuld Treated Like A Telemarketer

In the WSJ's big feature on the demise of Lehman brothers, there is an interesting anecdote that Clusterstock points out.

http://clusterstock.alleyinsider.com/2008/12/dick-fuld-dissed-by-ken-le…

Fuld resorted to calling the Bank of America CEO, Ken Lewis' home phone number multiple times over the final weekend trying to make a deal. Lewis' wife is reported to have answered and said "If Mr. Lewis wanted to call back, he would call back" causing Fuld to apologize.

Ouch! Fuld cannot catch a break. The Lewises really should have pulled one of these:

as another poster writes:

It is a sad comment that Ken Lewis would not return or take a phone call from a peer no matter what the situation. If the answer was no have the balls to say no, but don't hide. Lewis is in a position where you would expect him to be able to take some heat if necessary, if you call fielding a call from Dick Fuld heat. Fuld may never be in a position to harm BoA but if he is I'll bet his knife is sharp.

If that story is 100% accurate, I agree. What a chicken shit.

I don't know what's funnier, the fact that he's hiding behind his wife, or that his wife referred to him as Mr. Lewis.

What a classless ass maggot. Thats why BofA will always be second rate.
