Distressed RE Investments
Are there any shops in Canada that have distressed asset investment teams? Looks like the credit investment teams up here with the pension funds (OMERS / CPPIB / Quadreal) do safer credit stuff almost akin to what the Big 5 corporate banking teams do (obv notable diff being investments vs lending). I know Starlight and those guys do a bunch of value add but they don’t necessarily buy anything going to absolute shits / do lease up projects. Would love to pick anyone’s brain about this. Thanks!
