Do Any Of You the Actually Use Facebook ?.
Hello,
I thought about this yesterday: Given all of Facebook's political controversies and shady data practices, do you guys actually use the platform? I remember signing up in high school simply because of peer pressure. I've never once derived any pleasure from the platform, but quite the contrary. I recently deleted my account because I see zero upside in keeping it, and to think that I'll leave my current timeline ridden with cringey and performative garbage from high school/college online, knowing all of Facebook's flaws and controversies--it's absurd. I can't see this platform having any place in my adult life, its political and social garbage and ads and all. It really calls into question some of the holdover elements from our childhood that we've never really stopped to truly examine and question because society, corporations, popular culture, and our peers all work in tandem--knowningly and unknowingly--to reinforce what are often some very harmful structures and tropes that we're better off without. What are your thoughts?

Facebook has always been my least favorite of the social medias. I joined way back in like 5th or 6th grade but didn't even use it much then. In high school, Twitter was the main platform for my school and basically my whole state, so nobody ever really ventured to Facebook unless they were dumping pictures. Twitter was the shit back then. Used FB a bit more in college because most people I knew there had used FB > Twitter in the past, but even then never really used it a lot. And IG is just all around better now. Tldr Facebook is trash.

I joined when it first came out in 2004 and it used to be cool. The pictures used to be of fun trips of people exploring all around the world, but now its just trash, full of marketing and all my friends just post baby pictures and pictures of their kids, so its not the same.
I'm more for Insta and TikTok now.

I can not think of a single reason to still use facebook for anything other than following meme pages.
I use it for business but that is primarily it. I am not interested photos of other peoples' kids nor am I interested in know about birthdays
it's good to keep old photographs on. but far too many woke cucks on it. my feed consists of 60% virtue signallers and 40% too scared to exercise their right to a freedom of speech because of the 60% calling them racist and or/transphobe.

I deleted mine when mass censorship began ramping up late last year and the prospect of people going to prison for social media posts became increasingly real.

facebook doesn't care that you american fucks aren't using it anymore. they are capitalizing on india, brazil, other such countries where facebook is still cool
I mainly use it to keep up with some foreign friends, but basically we just send memes to each other on it
Use it for birthday reminders myself.
