Do I need to learn econometrics if I want to do global macro?

Hey so I’m a first year college student whose interested in investing and want to pursue working at a global macro HF as a career. Do I need to learn econometrics to work at a global macro HF? I was thinking about majoring in finance and learning macro stuff on the side since finance is a useful skill to learn for investing in terms of analyzing companies and macro is something that is cumulative in terms of learning. Also I don’t know if I should take macro as a minor since I want to take CS as a minor.
