Do you guys use Elliot waves?
I know this is a subjective form of analysis and it’s difficult to do it right which is why most people count it out. But for those that have nailed it’s use do you guys use it at your jobs?

lmao...
Sometimes Elliot waves to me, I don't wave back.
I'm waiting for someone to provide the WhatsApp contact details of an expert in elliot wave analysis who helped op reach financial independence🙄
@OP, typically most forms of technical analysis are viewed as only slightly better than snake oil among the professional investing crowd these days. Usually it's day traders on instagram that I see talk about this stuff, and outside of really old school guys who are somehow still in the industry (TA was bigger 20-30 years ago before it became so discredited) you won't really find it being seriously used.
Serious question, what led to TA being heavily discredited? I used it when I was in college trading small and micro cap stocks, but haven't touched it in years after shifting to more fundamental based L/S equity investing.
probably because its statistical garbage?
If you're an optimist, it used to work but ceased to do so as the quant crowd steadily arbed it all away. Any alpha to be gained from TA would have been the lowest of the low hanging fruit that doesn't require any qualitative understanding of a stock and so can be reduced to variables/patterns that algos can easily deal with.
If you're a pessimist, it was already snake oil 20/30 years ago and it just took the industry a while to realize it.
Hate Elliott waves. One moment I'm short a stock and then the book is suffering from aftershock waves after *ELLIOTT IS RUMORED TO HAVE A 7.8% STAKE IN XYZ; FABER SAYS*
Underrated and very real comment
Smile and wave boys, smile and wave
you are an idiot OP
Let me suck you up
No because I went to college
