Please don't tell me she's an NYU alum. So embarrassing

Would it be "an" NYU alum or "a" NYU alum? I'm not trying to be annoying but this is one of the dilemmas I faced the other day when I posted the video on facebook lol.

it's "an NYU alum". an and a are determined phonetically, so by vowel sounds not vowel letters. e.g. "an NYU," "a LED screen"

NYU alums have one of the biggest inferiority complexes i have ever seen. They're constantly overshadowed by columbia, and most of them couldn't get into an ivy.
What do a Columbia student and an NYU student have in common? They both got into NYU.

Please don't throw the monkey shit, it was a joke...

Brady I agree with what you said. I'm at NYU, I did get into an ivy but decided not to go. That being said, I unfortunately find a lot of kids I go to school with have terrible inferiority complexes. I think it's because NYU is glamorous to a lot of people but once they get here they realize we have no campus or school spirit, but are in a "cool" city.
