Do You Use Social Media?
I pretty much only use Instagram, and LinkedIn. I used to use Snapchat but found I was wasting a lot of time on it and cut it out. I think it's interesting to see what other people use.

I have a personal insta under a fake name I just follow cool pages on and post pictures of funny shit I see mostly. I have a personal FB page and a couple FB business pages, but I only really use the personal page to share posts of real estate people I work with or am friends with or share shit my friends are trying to do or whatever. And use as a place to store vacation photo albums. I'm also a member of some pretty active closed groups which I post in sometimes. I use FB Marketplace for rentals a lot too. It's super active but has a low average tenant quality. I use LinkedIn to delete cold messages from CPAs telling me how much money they can save me.
Andy?
No, I'm not Andy. I think a lot of people have Instagram accounts like that...
LinkedIn (if that counts). No Facebook, no Insta, none of that garbage.
Watch This(
) if you think social media is benign.
^THIS^ New York Magazine did a fascinating piece about how many of the original architects of the digital and social web now have deep regrets, especially relating to the attempts of capturing a person's time and the dopamine 'rewards' from notifications and likes. Makes me fear for my youngest family members.

I have notifications turned off for most things on my phone except for text messages and things relating to friends and family.
I don’t have: Instagram Twitter
I use: Facebook – for family and friends LinkedIn – for banking/finance contacts, connecting with vendors and for asking/answering work questions Kik and whatsapp – for family and friends Literotica – for creative writing Fictionpress – for creative writing Fetlife – for photography and modeling Skype – for friends, trying to convince Mom to use it to stay in touch with her far-flung friends WSO – for banking/finance, answering work questions and for non-work shits and giggles :)
Probably forgetting a few that I only visit a few times a year, but these are the ones I’m most active on, whether on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Most of the other sites I frequent for things like business news, exercise, cooking, health, meditation, I just go and read what I want, I don’t participate on their boards/social pages. Same goes for TED Talks, Rogan, Star Talk and other podcasts that I follow, I rarely leave comments, I just watch/listen.
I had Snapchat but I deleted it.
I got rid of Facebook 6 1/2 months ago but keep a fake account with no friends on it to, ahem, "stalk" one individual who I lost contact with years ago but would like to check on from time to time to see if she is still alive (literally--I'm worried she will ultimately kill herself). I also have an anonymous Twitter account that is for following Ben Shapiro.
Linkedin doesn't count as social media in my mind. I consider it a place to keep your resume public.
you tryna save her or something lol?
She’s mentally ill (in my opinion) and lives a continent away now and I’m not a family member. I don’t think there’s anything I can do.
Linkedin. Following certain companies and some influencers.
FB, but not follow anyone, just following some pages. Quick way to grasp what's going on around the globe (mostly markets & politics) in a minute or two by scrolling down news feed. Sometimes use FB to chat with close friends.
Also use Instagram. Just to upload photos when I travel.
I deleted the FB app off my phone and that limits my usage on facebook as whole. I have groups that I want to keep interacting in so I can't drop FB completely. I barley use SC anymore and use IG a decent amount. I know I should probably delete these along with reddit to stop fucking around.
Only twitter for trading quick exchanges and news. I strickly avoid conversations. Facebook is a productivity cancer and a marketing scheme, Instagram is for whores, and the rest are even worse.
LinkedIn is my go to. Other people have made posts it’s turning into Facebook, which is partially true. I follow a lot of CRE companies so it helps me stay up to date with what’s going on in the industry.
I help my friend manage a Facebook mastermind group for real estate. That’s pretty much it. Sometimes I make the mistake of clicking on a news article and seeing the comments, which makes me lose hope in society. I try not to do that.
WSO isn’t an app but I would consider social media..
Insta for friends/dank memes and FB for family. Is Reddit a form of social media? Because I need more sources of dank memes....
I'm up there with you buddy. Following a lot of the finance memes account on Insta.
I get on LinkedIn every once in a while, that's about it.
Who needs social media when you have WSO?
fb chat to talk to family & instagram which id love to delete but its essentially a pitchbook for dating (for my generation)
I like Instagram. Lots of funny stuff on there and some really gorgeous pictures. I use it more or less as a photo album/memories for shit I do too - way more for me to look back on than for worrying about my like count.
I have Facebook and LinkedIn but I don't really "use" them.
Snapchat is fun for sending stupid shit to friends.
Don't have a twitter.
LinkedIn: Yep
Instagram: I use it, but I hate that I'm on it. I find it super distracting and time consuming, but I get a good laugh out of the memes.
Facebook: Nope
Twitter: Deleted it
I already know that this thread is mostly going to be people bragging about how little they use social media. But the fact is, Instagram and Snapchat are pretty huge in our generation and one way you get girls..
I use only Instagram
Deleted FB, Insta, reddit off my phone. Sometimes check it on my home pc but eliminated the distraction during working hours.

Limiting social media usage reduces depression.
Amazing. So, Zuck, Dorsey and all the shitters, whose sites are specifically designed to stimulate addiction, have made millennials a generation of mentally ill people.
No.
Social media is the worst thing to happen to our society.
I had used facebook but now I am not interest in Social media.
I mostly use Instagran and snapchat. That to very rarely.
I deactivated Twitter, FB, Snapchat, and Instagram 2 years ago. Only thing I have now is Linkedin. Not going to lie I missed it a lot for the first couple weeks. Once those two weeks passed though it felt amazing not to be involved with any social media. No way I would go back now.
Deleted it all of it a couple years ago, and I’m from the generation that grew up with it. That shit was hard and makes you feel like an outcast hermit for a couple months.
BEYOND happy I did it now though. The shit is poison and it's amazing how much more you get done without those time sucks. Reading, quality time, hobbies etc all improve. You essentially find other things to fill the time with because your bored a lot do the time. Do yourself a favor and delete all of it.
WhatsApp: use it for friends/family
Instagram: mostly friends
Facebook: to login quicker on websites (no photos, posts, etc)
LinkedIn: to see what my former classmates are up to
