Do you use the downloaded template or use your own?

Hello monkeys,
I recently started learning how to build financial models, DCF specifically. However, all the tutorials start with a template and without telling me how they got there. Looking at those fancy lines and colors, I'm wondering if I should learn to build that or I just have to learn to build upon that. Any idea? Thanks

Imperative that you learn from scratch.
