Does anyone even use Skype anymore?
Just out of curiosity, who uses skype anymore? For those that use services such as skype, what do you use and why? What would you consider the best voice-chatting service for not only business related matters, but personal as well.
Personally, I use Discord because It's easy and simple. This may be because I'm young.
Was actually thinking about this recently. Used it all the time when I studied abroad and talked with international friends on it. Didn't use it in ages, and now I'm using it to talk with international clients. It definitely feels like it's dying out, but it's still a decent service from what I can tell.
Of course. Discord is for the younger crowd mostly, but Skype is by far one of the best/most commonly used. Ever since Microsoft bought it, it's on every W7/10 computer on installation.
Also, if a firm's email server is on outlook (as most big ones typically are) many will use Skype as well as it's all connected.
Plus to talk with relatives abroad who are too old/don't understand how to use anything else.
Only reason I don't enjoy skype is because it's extremely slow to navigate around, also It's linked to whoever is hosting the call's internet. Discord and other services are hosted on servers, load quicker, and run more smoothly. Skype I use for relatives and friends who only have it.
My girlfriend is currently in a country where a lot of videochat applications are blocked (including Discord), but Skype works. So yeah, we still use Skype.
Cyber-sexting in 2017, respect! +SB.
Skype for business
Still use Skype.
and Skype for Business.
Skype for business was used at my last firm (Consulting), and was always on. Also, when I was with my former girlfriend we used Skype very frequently as we were often several hours away from each other. Though, I will say, we were both Android users so FaceTime wasn't an option - maybe that would have changed why we both used Skype so much. Now, I really don't have a reason to use it.
I do
u can chat unlike facetme
Skype's group video/voice calls are still my go-to, I just don't do those too often. Back in high school, its messenger was like the replacement for MSN Messenger/AIM and I had it on basically all day. Whatsapp developing a computer app and the improvement of FB chat has basically killed off my use of Skype as a messenger service though.
Skype's new real-time translation is incredible.
Now that's something I haven't heard/seen. I'll definitely check into that.
I believe that Skype is the most common voice-chatting service and I think that it is pretty good. Discord favors a more younger audience and is not that well known.
Our firm uses Skype for international client calls. It's a great way to avoid charges for hefty international phone calls.
my firm uses it.
I wish we used Cisco WebEx or had some other service. Skype is nearly impossible to use externally, though I'm not sure if that's a firewall issue or a limitation of the software
My current firm uses Skype for internal IMs and also with clients. Its synced with Outlook and all that good stuff.
