Does attending a clearly christian/religious college hurt your chances?

I don't mean religious like Boston College or Notre Dame. Those schools are highly ranked and known. I also don't mean non-targets like Pepperdine or University of San Diego that are religiously affiliated, but whose names don't explicitly state it. I mean schools that are non-targets and through their names obviously religiously affiliated. Schools like TCU, Colorado Christian University, California Baptist University, etc. New York has the most IB jobs and New York swings liberal. Attending TCU won't hurt you in Houston, but will it in NY? I keep googling and there are only untrustworthy (due to bias of the polling body a Christian research group) polls saying that 67% of employers would not care. Attending a non-target is one barrier, is attending a non-target religious college an even greater barrier?

The only thing that matters is target or non-target. I will say that super religious school's like BYU punch above their weight due to Mormon alumni wanting to help

IMO if you're going to a nontarget you should always go to one with a big sports program because most people will identify with that on some level. TCU is a great example of this but I would only go if you want to work in Texas immediately after UG. Colorado Christian and Cal Baptist have no national brand and potentially even regional brands. I'm from LA and never would have known what Cal Baptist was if they didn't try to recruit me for baseball.

Agree with the poster above as well. If you're Mormon BYU is viewed within that community like HBS/GSB/Wharton are in this community.

I am fine with working in the regional area of the college right after, but I do hope to move to the northeast longterm. I hope that after a few years of work experience it would be easier to move. Not mormon so I won't benefit from their system.

Schools in the west/southwest offered me substantially more aid so I'm limited to where I can afford.
