Maybe, but he can also talk to his broker and see if he'll take him on as an intern. The logic goes like this: I do you the favor of bringing you a multimillion dollar account. You will now give my son an internship unless you want me to take my business elsewhere.

HR won't care though, a few million is nothing to them. This will only work on the end to end level. How well do you get along with your dad?

Definitely have your dad talk to the UBS representative your dad talks to. I know some firms actually have internships that are offered only for those whose parents have more than one million or multi million accounts. Now that I think about it, I think UBS is the one that offers that, so definitely look into it.

 

Even if there isn't a specific program and you DON'T want to go into wealth management for an internship, you could at least have your dad put you in touch with his guy and see if he has any contacts or push your resume through to someone who can give you an interview
