Does having a mentor add any significant value to your career?
There seems to be a lot of focus on having a mentor to learn from. This is one of the top tips given to a lot of bankers and young college graduates who are at the beginning of their career. Though I agree with it in principle, I would like to understand how this works practically.
I am curious to know the opinion of some professionals here on this topic. Did a mentor add any value to you? How do request them for help? Is having a mentor a necessity to advance in one's line of work?
