Does having alumni at your bank matter for SA placement/return offer?
Hi can anyone shed some light on this? If I would like to accept an offer at BAML but have no alumni there compared to Credit Suisse with a ton of alumni there and everyone getting full time offers - does it matter which firm I choose? Should I just choose the most prestigious firm? Does it matter that much for exit opps...will it matter much for placement/progression? Would love any insight. Thanks!
From what I've heard and can assume, group placement is where alumni would be able to help you out the most. If there's an alum whose group you want to be in, I'm sure they'd have some pull with the group and would advocate for you if they like you.
As for converting to an FT offer, having an alum who likes you probably helps, but if you do a good job you won't have to worry about that.
Did you get a BAML offer through diversity recruiting?
Thanks! I networked quite a lot.
did you get interviews purely through networking?
