haha nice... Not bad.. but I Agree with the above, maybe get the coat tailored. Or are you borrowing it? Go to a few different tailors to get appraisals so you don't get taken.

Waist has to come in a lot. Make them do it right: take the jacket apart and take in the material at the back seams.

The button placement looks slightly weird. Not sure if that's the angle.

Lengthen the cuffs half an inch.

Can't really see the pants.

Yeah, jacket is too short. Easy point of reference is when you try it on, with your arms at your sides, you should make a fist with the bottom of your jacket in your hand and it should just touch the palm of your hand. Clearly if you did this with that jacket it wouldn't even make it into your hand. The sleeves also need to be let down so only about 1/4" of the shirt cuff is showing. That's up to the discretion of you. And like everyone else has said, needs to be taken in at the waist a good amount. Find any good tailor and they should easily be able to notice these things.

The photo is at a strange angle, sorry.

This is a brand new Armani suit bought from Armani.com so I can't take it to the website for altering ;)

Yes. I think I will go to a tailor, but I'm not aware of any that aren't extortionate. Is a local tailor ok? Or I need an actual traditionally established suit tailor (I'm from London, so Saville row is available, but price is insane).

So, just get them to take in the waist? (is the length acceptable? I like them a little shorter than usual). How much are we looking at to get this suit to fit nicely? (roughly)

Which line is this? Emporio, Coleczioni or The Black Label (Giorgio Armani)?

CHILDREN'S! I'm wearing age 14 in that pic. I have an age 16 and it is miles too big. So returning the 16 and getting the 14 tailored, by the looks of it...

I'm very very thin!

Yeah, this is a weird looking Armani suit - normally, Italian suits have a much slimmer fit (granted, Armani is really americanized). I want to say it's long, but it looks like it stops where it should relative to your pants. I think it that "2-button that looks like a 3 button" anomaly mentioned above.

Waist should come in. Shoulders and sleeves thankfully look good - although a bit short. You'd be ok if there isn't extra material for lengthening. Unless you are at a bank that makes you wear a suit regularly, it should be entirely acceptable with minor fixes.

Honestly, appropriate dress matters way more for interviews than actual work...at 100+ hours a week, nobody cares as long as you look vaguely professional. People just don't have the mental bandwidth to care whether you have rubber or leather soled shoes, or whether your suit is Italian or American. As long as you don't go way out of line (e.g. contrasting collar, cufflinks, and braces) you are good to go.

You mean Armani suits are really americanized in the sense that they tend to be bulkier than the typical Italian suits? Maybe it is just the particular suits that I bought, but I find the one Giorgio Armani suit I own to be of a much slimmer fit than my Canali suit. Actually the Canali suit looks rather bulky and has a very similar cut to the typical American suits.

Yeah, you really need to go custom with a 29 inch chest 28 inch waist. Most suits are made with a 6 or 7 inch drop - so even a suit with a 28 inch waist (not many out there) would have a 35 or 34 inch chest.

I can believe that Giorgio Armani would be a slimmer cut - the Emporio Armani suits I have tried were all quite bulky. Also terrible values - basically the RL Green Label of Armani.

Yeah this isn't working; seems like there is zero waist suppression. It fits fine at the shoulders though. Lapels are also rather big on your skinny frame. Sleeves seem a bit long, it's bordering too much cuff. Could be the lighting but the pants and the jacket don't seem to match perfectly (probably lighting). Idk if I'm blind or something, but it's black and black suits are usually a no-no. Go for Navy/Charcoal.

Best thing would be to return it and buy a new one from J Crew./Indochino/Black Lapel, as these companies tend to give slimmer fits and more modern details that would suit your body (also the quality is not bad either; half canvassed, solid fabrics). If you can't afford those (Indochino is 350-400, Black Lapel and JCrew 500-600), look for some of the slim fit stuff at a place like Macys or H&M (JCrew outlet also has a decent fitting suit apparently, around 200). A cheap suit that will fit you well is probably going to be polyester or a woold blend though.

The fit is.....pretty damn weird and awkward. This Armani suit is going to need a lot of surgery.

I would just save yourself some time and return the thing for a better fitting suit, then tailor that to fit better.
