I'm sorry but if you think you need to 'defend' yourself after a woman 'pushes' you, you need to either a) sack the fuck up or b) hang out with less butchy women

And its his wife?! What is he defending himself from, exactly?

Technically speaking, if someone punches you first, isn't it considered self defence to punch back?

No, its self defense when you can reasonable assume that your life, property or well being are at risk. Clearly none of those things apply here. If some 5 year old comes up and punches me in the leg, I can't just punt the little fucker to 'defend' myself.

uHHH, dude, he punched his wife. Parsing this out into highly subjective abstractions won't change that. Lock the fucker up. Typically, domestic abusers get put in a cell with guys with nicknames like "booty bandit".

Yeah, I mean the guy was making threatening advances and actions the entire time. He was twice her size and she barely pushed him. Clear case of assault and domestic violence. Jail time for bubba.

Nice to see trash breeding. I am sure our taxes will go to pay for that kid. Ugg.

exactly, I'm all for punching a woman if she's goin berserker on you and actually trying to harm you, but she pushed like a girl

girls really shouldn't slap guys though, it's pretty much a way to get away with hitting somebody without a court case/hit back

with the kids watching? gtfo. She needs to let him grab his shit though. One thing that I'm happy about with my ex is that I've discovered that can't hit women.... bitch got me angry as F#$@ for some messed up crap, if I was to ever hit a woman, I'd have already done it.

Have the roles reversed in this situation though, and the guy would have a criminal charge before the first punch is thrown ha.

The comments on youtube are pretty disturbing (e.g., she attacked him first, 'she's asking for it'...) - I hope they're just written for shock value.

Tough call on this one, lol. I do not stand behind the premise that a guy should never hit a girl...but I would try to avoid the situation at all cost, because just as this video showed, you can't win. Physically you are (almost always) bigger and stronger and therefor you will always look like the predator.

I'm not condoning what this guy did but this isn't necessarily a slam dunk if it goes to court. The guy's attorney will point out that the woman instigated the situation, he was hit (and shoved) first and that it was a natural reaction to punch back in defense (whether it's true or not). Hopefully, the woman's attorney will point out the aggression of the guy as he yanked things away and kicked over the DVDs or whatever they were.

Sadly, I've been in a situation that I lost my temper and punched a hole in the wall. I was not in a good mood and my girlfriend was drunk and nagging me about my ex-gf (who I hadn't even seen in years). I knew I was starting to get mad about the whole situation so I tried to leave for a walk and she blocked the door...so short of physically moving her I actually couldn't leave (unless I kicked out the screen on the balcony and jumped down 2 stories). I eventually got so pissed I punched the wall and busted a giant hole in it. I told her that I was going to break out the screen and jump off the balcony so I could leave and headed towards the back door. She tried to beat me to it (so she could block it) by racing across the apartment so I jumped over the couch and went out the front door that she left unattended. I ended up walking about 10 miles before she was able to find me and pick me up.

I've always felt like a d-bag for losing control like that but it is what it is. I had been drinking and didn't handle the situation in the appropriate manner (though I would have never hit her and was trying to do the right thing). She was drunk and inadvertently made me mad. After getting mad, I tried to go walk it off. She thought I was walking out, to leave forever...which is why she was blocking the door. That made me so mad, instead of just walking around the block and cooling down, I tried to walk back to my car...which was about 20 miles away (did I mentioned I was drinking and very mad? LOL). The point to all that is you, as the male, have to be the bigger person, figuratively speaking. If she hits you, you might have a small red mark. If you hit her, she will be swollen and bruised. What looks worse when the cops show up? Plus, in many places, if you are living with someone and the cops show up because of a physical exchange, someone will have to leave for the night and in most cases that means the guy and the place he goes is jail.

The smartest thing to do is remove yourself as fast as possible from the situation because nothing good can come of it. Leave with what little you need for the night and then request that a LEO meet you at the place the next day so you can gather your belongings and nothing spills overboard. Woman know just how to push a guy's buttons and if that is something that could lead you to doing something you would regret, be smart and remove yourself from the situation or even the relationship if necessary...especially if you care about the person.

As an aside. I would really like to know who actually started the video recording. Given that the guy knew the camera was there, it seems as though he thought that something might go down, but that is merely speculation. You can see from the video the woman was already irritated when she brushed by the child and guy. In my opinion she seemed to be looking for a fight (though probably just verbal). Again, I'm not defending the guy. In fact, if that was his camera and he was recording this because he suspected something bad might go down then he should have been all the more aware to not engage in any altercation, whether verbal or physical.

It's sad that this stuff goes on but it's what you get when you have a bunch of immature adults getting married to people they think they love. I'm not in a relationship for a couple of reasons. One, I haven't found a good enough girl to replace my last one and two...and definitely more importantly...because I'm selfish and don't want to devote the time, money or effort it would take to be in a serious relationship. That is also why I don't have a dog, lol. That is how most people are but they are unwilling to admit it or feel they have to stick to some predetermined timeline of being married by the time they are 24 and having kids by the time they are 26.

When can we start requiring licensing for people to have children??
My barber jokes about this all the time, "I have to get license to cut hair, but to run company or have family, you don't need license??" I'm in favor of mandatory education classes for parents....a lot of people do stupid fucking things or try to reinvent the wheel, when 99% of kids need pretty much the same things.

CPH: Let go of your guilt, you were trying to get out and blow off steam. I do the same thing, sometimes there's no reason for a fight and it's just going to escalate, and when you calm down you think more clearly. Yeah you shouldn't punch the wall, it's bad for your knuckles and makes you look like an ass, but you were trying to do the right thing and no one got hurt, so just let it go.

It doesn't haunt my dreams or anything but I know I'm better than that. On top of it, after I left, she called her dad and her dad got out of bed (it was like 4am) and drove nearly an hour to her place to pick her up to come search for me because I wouldn't answer her call. So I'm walking down the side of the Interstate when they pull up. I see her dad so I have to get in, knowing he drove all that way. I just profusely apologized to him because I knew he giving a very important medical presentation (he's a doctor) in just a few hours and he shouldn't have to be dealing with her shenanigans. He was literally one of the nicest guys on the face of the earth...so I felt bad about that and didn't want him to think that I would ever hurt his daughter because I really liked the girl but it's hard to date someone and feel like you are raising them at the same time.

On a similar note, I punched my sister in the face when I was in about 3rd grade and haven't really let that one go either. I got hit in the face with something and she was standing near me and laughed. I gave her a quick jab to the face and sent her crying home. Probably shouldn't have done that either, lol.

Well, considering you don't even need one to vote, probably never.

dont hit women... The second you get the feeling that you want to hit the girl end the relationship... there are plenty other women running around outside looking for a man

if you think any woman is worth catching a case and going through the legal system you are a foolish foolish man

Get it!

I can never understand why men beat non butch woman...

The answer to your question is 1) network 2) get involved 3) beef up your resume 4) repeat -happypantsmcgee WSO is not your personal search function.

Clearly this guy is going down. Maybe she's smarter than she looks though. Was this thing all a set up? The camera is positioned perfectly to capture the action, and she knew right where to stand. Not saying she is in the wrong at all here, just that maybe this had been a pattern and no one believed her and she was attempting to gather evidence. Anyway, smart of her. I hope this guy goes down hard and that the kids can somehow bounce back from this.
