Dont Smoke and Open Windows

More reasons to not smoke

A 31-year-old Wall Street executive plummeted to his death after opening a window of his fifth-floor Upper East Side apartment to smoke a cigarette.
Keith Mastronardi cracked open the waist-high window Sunday evening after having a few drinks so that the cigarette smoke wouldn't disturb his wife and 11-week-old daughter, who were also in the room, according to multiple reports.
He apparently lost his balance and tumbled to the courtyard below. Police do not believe any criminality is involved and the investigation is ongoing.
Mastronardi's wife, Debra, had to be taken to the hospital for observation after the incident. The couple has three children, all under the age of 5.
The New York Post reports the family's apartment at 340 E. 74th Street did not have window guards, which landlords must legally install in all city building units where a child aged 10 or younger lives, according to the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD).
The city is sending inspectors to check out all units in the building, according to the Post.
Mastronardi was the head of USD exotic derivatives at Vyapar Capital Market Partners, a brokerage firm specializing in over-the-counter derivatives products.
A spokesman for the firm told the Wall Street Journal.Mastronardi had been "a valued member of our company for a number of years."

Mystery solved.

I was just thinking the exact same thing. It's obvious, really - He was trying to use cigarette smoke to mitigate the diaper fumes when his wife tossed a diaper at him (to avoid having to cross the room to hand it to him), catching the man off guard and causing him to lose balance.
