I personally dislike Brooks Brothers, even though they are of great quality for the price, hate the shirt pocket (it's 2015 for god sake).

It's funny you say that actually. I started my career in the northeast and gathered a nice collection of conservative white and blue spread collar pocket-less button downs. Moved south and everyone wears button down collars with pockets and tons of prints, especially checks and ginghams. Had to buy new shirts.

I've ordered a several shirts from Combatant Gent, as well as 2 suits.

I will say that the shirts are hit or miss. It depends on the type of shirt ordered. The chambray feels amazing; the poplin shirt feels cheap and uncomfortable. I agree with ar010490 on the suit quality. They're nice for the price (around 200 after tailoring), but not the absolute best. Most of the cuts from Combat Gent are very slim and do not fit me (I don't skip leg day), but the shirts fit well with slim fit ~ 1/2 a size up. I'm 5' 9" 175 and athletically built, the 16 slim fit works wonderfully (no tailoring needed). Be aware that shipping times can take up to a month, and they're always sold out of everything. Returns can also take up to a month.

That is good to know. I am pretty sure that I got the poplin, so I guess I just chose poorly. Also, I just went on the website to possibly order a chambray, but it looks like the chambray are only button-collars. I am seeing that right?

TM Lewin arent bad for the sales they have (4 for 90 GBP) right now, although only if you dont wash/iron your own shirts cuz its a bitch to iron them. The slim fit ones also have surprisingly wide sleeves.

i have one non iron shirt and I really really like it, but it might be the exception to the rule (im not even sure if its officially a non iron, but it just works that way). I think it can be a hit or miss. I know I am trying so hard to remember where i got mine from.

p.s. you get stuff hard to clean, most banks have dry cleaners who come pick your clothes up everyday and drop them off 24hrs later pressed and perfect - you don't have enough free time to warrant spending time ironing - given the value of time, it's much cheaper to get them done. In which case leave the back to school easy-irons at home, and get some Thomas Pink shirts. The ultimate power shirt.

Really? The ultimate power shirt... Wouldn't that fall to makers like T&A or one of the Italian shops like Borrelli?

To me, a nice Turnbull shirt blows Pink out of the water.
