DRW vs Google/Microsoft
I'm a computer science student and have received offers at all three of the named companies. I'm evaluating whether or not I want to work in a more traditional software engineering environment, or if I want to get into trading systems with DRW, something that has been very interesting to me for a while.
I was hoping that some of you might have insight. Perhaps there's a better place to ask, as this is more geared towards software engineering. There's a lot of data on what Google/Microsoft would look like (salary, etc.) after the first couple years, but I didn't see any data on what DRW would look like after the first couple of years. My understanding is that the cap is likely higher with DRW, but I'm not sure what I would realistically see. I know that DRW recruits senior engineers from the likes of Google and Microsoft, so clearly there's a reason to switch. Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
For these firms I believe that its largely performance based. If I'm correct the hire up you get promoted the larger percentage you get. Scan through this thread you might find it useful. If I had the math skills I would rather be trading than programming. But this is a finance board so prepare for that bias.
