Duke MMS + 1-year Daytime MBA VS Duke 2-year Daytime MBA
Is Duke Master in Management (MMS) and then 1-year Advanced Daytime MBA program seen as equivalent to Duke's 2-year Daytime MBA? I was accepted to the MMS program for this year. I have 2 years of decent work experience and was given a substantial scholarship. I plan on enrolling in the Advanced MBA for the following year. I didn't think I had enough work experience to be competitive for the 2-year MBA program since the average work experience is 6 years. I am unsure if these programs are treated the same by employers/colleagues?
Both programs involve 2 years at Fuqua and an MBA diploma. MMS students can join MBA clubs and have the same professors. If I did the programs back to back I would be able to have an internship in between years. Should I accept my admittance to MMS or wait a few years and apply for the MBA? I come from an unknown non-target school, liberal arts major, and could really use the Duke re-brand sooner rather than later which is why I applied at all.
