Duke vs Tufts
HS student here. Would you say these are pretty similar in terms of IB/Consulting/Trading opportunities after college?

the street hires a lot more from Duke...lots of Duke alumni work in finance.
Objectively speaking, I would say that Duke provides more opportunities for IB/Consulting/Trading after college in comparison to Tufts. Obviously, Duke places lights out in the south, but it also holds its weight well in New York. Tufts students, on the other hand, have to compete against students from Harvard, MIT, BU, BC, Northeastern, Emerson, Bentley, Brandeis, Babson, and Wellesley (although Tufts is better than a number of these) for Boston positions. Pretty much a nontarget for New York. Tufts is a great institution, but it's just not comparable to Duke in this instance.
Duke
Duke is way better
Duke
Both great schools, but if you want IB/consulting, Duke is much stronger, on a relative basis.
Duke's also helped by having strong placement of MBA alums and firms come to Duke to hire for undergrads and MBAs. Can't say the same about Tufts.
Anecdotally, not sure if I ever met a Tufts alum in finance, obviously they exist, but may be less of them VS the plethora of Duke ones.
This might be one of the most idiotic things I've read on here. Have you heard of a guy named Jamie Dimon? FYI, I didnt even go to Tufts, but there are a ton of alum in finance.
Tufts if you play lax (serious answer).
i know a couple Moelis MDs who went to Tufts (both making BANK)...both very happy with their education, and the experience was great...and of course Tufts is a good school so you won't have a problem getting a job from there...Duke is just a little different...a big fish in a small pond...and the powerhouse basketball program doesn't hurt.
Duke is way more well known and is the much better choice, hands down... it's the best school in the south and a top university
Is this a real question? Duke all the way, unless Tufts is significantly cheaper
Both different, can't go wrong with either.
Are people in the comments serious? Duke >>>>>>>>> Tufts, it's not even a question. I don't think I know any Tufts alums in NYC, while I know a ton of Duke alums, despite them being in the south.
Don't Fuq around - Duke is the answer.
duke
Tufts kids make it too, but definitely Duke.
