E-mail Etiquette
So I'm beginning to form a solid connection with a former finance professor of mine who's a VP and a BB. He's very casual and insists i refer to him by his first name and seems eager to help me.
We've been shooting e-mails back and forth but some of them are real short (1-2 lines) where I'm just answering a question or something and he still uses opening and closing greetings for these really short e-mails. When is it appropriate to do away with the salutations? It sounds silly when I'm reading my reply in my head and there are greetings for a 1 line e-mail.
I assume its OK if your responding to an e-mail that was recently sent or any kind of really short response but I am terrible at inferring protocol.
Greetings Markhobbus, I hope this message finds you well.
Follow his lead.
Best wishes,
Newflyer
^^haha
Thanks,
Scott
